Our son Spartan, a rescue tom-cat.
Spartan was so named because he was a wild stray (feral), who lived 4yrs in the neighborhood, when we moved in. When I found out he was abandoned, I began to put milk out for him, and he was hungry! Within a few weeks he would come and meow on the deck for food. Soon, he came in and wrapped himself around my leg. He was a fighter, previously abused, had kPTSD (kitty post tramatic stress disorder) & was wild: so we named him a warriors name: Spartan. His stories in blog 07/04/2012 "Who rescued who?"
Spartan, years later in our dream home.

My husband Joe, on our trip to Italy.
Rome, Italy is my favorite place in the world. Second is Venice. The food is awesome, Italians treat you great, and the wine is cheaper than the water. Point, set, match. This place had these pint mugs of beer. Huge! It was a hoot. We sat and people watched while we ate homemade pizza. Now, our waiter was something else! Men there are very forward. It is not like Canadian culture. The waiter told Joe how hot his wife was... I can't even type what he said! Memories!
Me and my husband, 2008.
My trademark braid.
Most of the 7 years I owned my salon and barber shop I wore my hair in a braid. It was convenient for work, and men thought it took a lot of time and looked good: I wasn't going to complain about that or tell them it was my 30 second go to AM rush 'do'. I became known for it. This was before braids were cool. Yah, I started that trend, just saying! ;) This photo has a funny secret. It was taken on our house hunting trip to NB when I was 30. One of my big concerns was that the bathtub be a soaker tub (deeper and longer than normal) as I am 5' 10'. I had to test it out... can you tell where this photo was taken? By my husband while I was in checking the tub size in clothes on tour! LOL
Joe and I in the Eiffel Tower, Paris.
My lovely husband and me in Paris, having lunch at the Eiffel Tower... expensive, but really good food, glad we did it. We took a tour where you walked up to the top level, then there is a private elevator that takes you to the very very top, where there is a café. You have this amazing view of the city. It is breathtaking. Very memorable. So glad we did this. PS. The actual Eiffel Tower is not that big. At least I didn't think so when I saw it. But I felt that way about a lot of buildings while traveling. EXCEPT Roman Churches! They are massive. You do not come up to 1/10th the height of a door! Anyways it is Paris's big attraction. My husband says I am hard to impress! LOL
A new stray has moved in, just 3 months before we moved from NB to ON! Join us in welcoming <3 Soren to our family!
Soren arrived March 10, 2014 badly wounded from a fight with another stray tomcat. We took him in, whisked him off to the vet, and got him the medical care he needed. He is a lap cat who is full of love, very affectionate. We are still working on the socialization with our other 2 boys. Patience and love. I want to thank the kind strangers and good friends who donated towards his extensive and very expensive vet bills.
Socrates is Søren's kitten (buddy) he was adopted from KAR and we got to take him home on Christmas Eve. Talk about the perfect gift of love fit with the season!
We got our first kittens in 2019. Hermes is black, a boy. Roma Amour is a Maine Coon feral, a sweet little girl. They quickly became best friends. I "had too," get her because Hermes had to much energy for me, I could not keep up with him! Lesson learnt, if adopting kittens, always adopt in pairs! These two are from 2 litters but they took 3 days to become BFF's! Roma, a colony cat, is the BEST BEHAVED cat we have ever had since Spartan, who was also a wild cat.
